Dhawalagiri Region Trekking
Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world with the height of 8167 m. Dhaulagiri region trek is the off beaten path adventure in the western path of the Himalayas which is a quite challenging trek. Dhaulagiri itself means the “white mountains” which is an appropriate name for this giant rock, snow, and ice. This trek is a real adventure trekking which takes you beyond the imagination. Dhaulagiri trek is a combination of altitude and cold that make a trip particularly tiring. Dhaulagiri Trek passes through the pristine valley of Myagdi, green lush hillsides, traditional village and the stunning glaciers with high snowy passes. Get the stunning view from the Kali Gandaki valley. More than fifteen 7000m peaks are visible on this trek, which also cresses high passes including French Pass 5360 m and Thapa pass 5200m.
Dhaulagiri Trek starts at the Beni and follows by the Myagdi Khola River passing through the fascinating the Gurung settlement, crossing the terraced field with the glimpse of white mountain Dhaulagiri. The treks then continue up the narrow Chon Barden gorge near Dhaulagiri Base Camp crosses French Pass and enters into what is termed the Concealed Valley. After crossing Dhampus the descent route starts to Jomsom and end with flying back to Pokhara.
