This special service trek to Everest Base Camp starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where trekkers will be introduced to the Sherpas and the porters. We trek for two days, before the first acclimatization against Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) at Namche, then for two more days before the second acclimatization at Dingboche. Before ascending Dingboche, we observe the hilltop settlement of Tengboche and the Buddhist Monastery, guarded by the awesome views of the peaks, including Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. leaving Dingboche behind, we set off to conquer the base camp of Mount Everest (5,364m). Gorak Shep is the last settlement area before the base camp. After base camp, we also hike up to Kala Patthar (5,550m), to enjoy the magnificent views of the Mt. Everest, which is not clearly seen from the base camp, and other surrounding peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and Cho Oyu. After achieving the goal, we retrace the trail used earlier to get back to Lukla and catch a flight to Kathmandu.
Spring and autumn are considered the best seasons to plan this trek. The standard package offered by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking ensures proper acclimatization with an average of 4-6 hour walk in a day. No past experience or technical knowledge is required to complete this trek. Therefore, any individual who is physically fit and have strong mental determination can opt for this trek.
Alert: There will be a slight change in the itinerary, especially the days when you take the domestic flights. In April & May and October & November of 2019, the government shifted the operation base for flights to and from Lukla (This is the actual starting point of the trek) from Kathmandu to Manthali, a town 4 to 5 hours drive away from Kathmandu. As a result, anyone who signed up for any Everest trek or climb had to go to Manthali to catch their flight. They moved the base because of renovation and high air traffic for Kathmandu's airport which is also the only international airport in Nepal. This change in the airport will continue in 2020 as well. Though right now there have been direct flights, we expect from March the airport will be shifted.

Fantastic trip, couldn't have asked for more. Our guides were wonderful, the teahouses were pretty comfy (given the harsh environment), food was great and every day of the trek was an absolute treat.
