ITINERARY

Expand All

Your adventure begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a thrilling experience offering stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival at the small Lukla airport, your trek begins with a relatively easy walk to Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages. As you approach Phakding, enjoy the first glimpses of the surrounding mountains and settle into a cozy lodge to rest for the night.

Today’s trek takes you from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the main hub of the Khumbu region. The trail follows the river before crossing several suspension bridges, offering incredible views of the surrounding peaks. As you ascend gradually, the landscape transitions into alpine forests filled with rhododendrons and pine trees. After crossing the final suspension bridge, the steep climb up to Namche Bazaar begins. Upon arrival, take in the breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Namche Bazaar is a bustling town where you can rest, shop for trekking supplies, or visit the local museum.

After a night in Namche, you will continue your journey to Deboche, a peaceful village located near the famous Tengboche Monastery. The trail gradually ascends and offers panoramic views of the mountains as you cross through lush forests and alpine meadows. On the way, you’ll pass by the ancient Tengboche Monastery, a sacred site for the Sherpa people, where you can take a moment to soak in the spiritual atmosphere and stunning vistas. From Tengboche, the descent to Deboche is short, where you will spend the night in a comfortable lodge.

Today’s trek is relatively short but steadily gains altitude, allowing you to acclimatize properly to the thinning air. As you leave Deboche, you’ll pass through picturesque valleys, alpine meadows, and small settlements like Pangboche, with views of Ama Dablam and other surrounding peaks. The trail ascends to Dingboche, a charming village set amidst beautiful fields of barley and potatoes. Here, you’ll stay in a lodge to rest and allow your body to adjust to the higher altitude.

On Day 5, you will continue your journey to Lobuche. The trail is more challenging, as it takes you through a rugged, high-altitude landscape. Along the way, you will pass through small stone huts and rugged terrain. The views of towering peaks, including the impressive Khumbutse and Nuptse, will keep you company. After a steep climb and a series of undulating paths, you will arrive at Lobuche, a small settlement where you will rest for the night.

Today is one of the most exciting days of the trek as you reach Everest Base Camp! The journey begins with a steep climb to Gorak Shep, a small settlement where you will take a short rest. From Gorak Shep, the trail ascends to Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival, you’ll be standing at the foot of Mount Everest, soaking in the stunning views of glaciers, icefalls, and the towering summit. Take time to capture the moment and appreciate the unparalleled beauty of this iconic location before returning to Gorak Shep for the night.

Today, you will rise early to hike to Kala Pathar, one of the best viewpoints of Mount Everest. From the top of Kala Pathar, you will be treated to an unobstructed view of Everest, Lhotse, and many other peaks. After enjoying the sunrise and the majestic views, you’ll descend back to Gorak Shep for a quick break before heading down to Pheriche. The descent through the Khumbu Valley offers a chance to reflect on the incredible journey while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Pheriche, where you will spend the night.

After several days at higher altitudes, today’s descent to Namche Bazaar will feel like a welcome change. The trail takes you through lush forests and vibrant valleys, with several suspension bridges along the way. Upon arriving in Namche Bazaar, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the local markets, visit shops, or relax in the comfort of your lodge. The air feels thicker, making breathing easier after the high-altitude trekking days.

On the final stretch of your trek, you’ll descend back to Lukla, where your journey began. The trail descends steadily, passing through several villages and forests. As you make your way down, you can reflect on your incredible journey to Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival in Lukla, you’ll celebrate the completion of your trek and enjoy a final night in the bustling town before your flight back to Kathmandu.

After an early breakfast, you’ll board your flight back to Kathmandu, taking in the last aerial views of the majestic Himalayas. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible experience you’ve just had. This concludes your 10-day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, a journey filled with adventure, cultural immersion, and unforgettable views.

This trek is probably the best starting point for people planning to trek the peaks in the Everest Region. The trek difficulty is moderate for an absolutely unprepared person, and easy for experienced hikers. The trek is filled with stunning beauty of the very diverse Himalayan terrain. It was a fine experience with dense forests, plain mountains and rocky regions. The trek to the summit was exceptional, and I witnessed the sunrise of a lifetime at the summit, along with a great panoramic view of Mt. Everest and the Greater Himalayan Range. Climatic conditions were good, except for very strong wind on the way to the summit from base camp. I profusely thank Mr. Lhakpa Sona, the Sherpa who was with me throughout the trek, making accommodation and food arrangements during the trek, and for guiding me at each step as it was my first Himalayan trek. I also thank Mr. Ang Giljin the porter, who carried my personal effects and luggage and was incredibly supportive. Finally, I thank Mr. Ram Barakoti for organizing this trek for me. I'm already making plans for my next trek to Gokyo valley and Mt. Gokyo Ri summit with Lhakpa, as the next step towards my dream of summiting Mt. Everest. Thank you Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd. ! Let's meet again soon.
