ITINERARY

Expand All

Your adventure begins with a thrilling 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, offering stunning aerial views of the Himalayas. Once in Lukla, you’ll begin the trek towards Phakding, a picturesque village along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail is relatively easy, passing through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages. After approximately 5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Phakding, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable lodge.

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the Khumbu region, with a steady ascent towards Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village in the area. The trail crosses several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River and passes through dense forests of rhododendron and pine. After a steep ascent, you’ll reach Namche Bazaar, where you’ll spend the night in a luxury lodge, enjoying incredible views of the surrounding peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Acclimatization is crucial to avoid altitude sickness, so today you’ll spend the day exploring Namche and allowing your body to adjust to the higher altitude. You can take a short hike to the nearby Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and other towering peaks. Alternatively, you can visit the local museum or explore the vibrant market area. This day of rest and exploration helps your body adjust to the altitude and ensures a safer trek ahead.

After a restful day, you’ll continue your trek towards Deboche. The trail ascends through forests and offers spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and the surrounding peaks. On the way, you’ll pass through the famous Tengboche Monastery, an important cultural site for the Sherpa people. From there, the descent leads to Deboche, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable lodge surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.

Today’s trek brings you to Dingboche, a charming village known for its stone-walled fields and stunning views of Ama Dablam. The route ascends gradually through alpine meadows, with occasional sightings of wildlife, including pheasants and yaks. The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours, and upon arrival in Dingboche, you’ll enjoy the comfort of a luxury lodge, offering the perfect place to relax and acclimatize.

Another acclimatization day ensures that you are well-prepared for the higher altitudes ahead. You can take a short hike to the nearby Nangkar Tshang peak for beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. This day helps your body adjust, reducing the risk of altitude sickness, and gives you a chance to rest before continuing the trek.

Today’s trek is more challenging as you make your way towards Lobuche, situated at a higher altitude. The trail follows a rugged path through the Khumbu Glacier and passes through the memorial site for climbers who have lost their lives in the region. As you approach Lobuche, the views of Everest and surrounding peaks become even more impressive. You’ll spend the night at a lodge in Lobuche, resting before the final push to Everest Base Camp.

Today is one of the most exciting days of the trek as you reach Everest Base Camp! After a 3-4 hour trek from Lobuche, you’ll arrive at the iconic base camp, where climbers prepare for their ascent of Everest. The views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding glaciers are absolutely breathtaking. After celebrating your achievement and soaking in the stunning surroundings, you’ll head back to Gorak Shep for the night. The total duration of the trek today is around 6-8 hours.

Early in the morning, you’ll climb to Kala Patthar, one of the best viewpoints in the region, to witness the sunrise over Mount Everest. The views from the summit are truly spectacular, with panoramic vistas of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. After descending from Kala Patthar, you’ll trek back to Gorak Shep for a short rest before descending to Pheriche, a peaceful village at a lower altitude. The total duration of today’s trek is around 9 hours.

Today’s descent takes you back towards Namche Bazaar. The trail leads you through lush forests, past small villages, and over suspension bridges, providing spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. After 6-7 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive in Namche Bazaar, where you can relax and enjoy your final night in this bustling Sherpa town.

On your final day of trekking, you’ll descend back to Lukla. The trail passes through forests, meadows, and small villages, giving you one last chance to enjoy the beauty of the Khumbu region. After 6-7 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Lukla, where you’ll celebrate the successful completion of your trek.

After breakfast in Lukla, you’ll board a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. The 30-minute flight offers one last stunning view of the Himalayas before arriving back in Kathmandu, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. This marks the end of your unforgettable 12-day Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek.

This trek is probably the best starting point for people planning to trek the peaks in the Everest Region. The trek difficulty is moderate for an absolutely unprepared person, and easy for experienced hikers. The trek is filled with stunning beauty of the very diverse Himalayan terrain. It was a fine experience with dense forests, plain mountains and rocky regions. The trek to the summit was exceptional, and I witnessed the sunrise of a lifetime at the summit, along with a great panoramic view of Mt. Everest and the Greater Himalayan Range. Climatic conditions were good, except for very strong wind on the way to the summit from base camp. I profusely thank Mr. Lhakpa Sona, the Sherpa who was with me throughout the trek, making accommodation and food arrangements during the trek, and for guiding me at each step as it was my first Himalayan trek. I also thank Mr. Ang Giljin the porter, who carried my personal effects and luggage and was incredibly supportive. Finally, I thank Mr. Ram Barakoti for organizing this trek for me. I'm already making plans for my next trek to Gokyo valley and Mt. Gokyo Ri summit with Lhakpa, as the next step towards my dream of summiting Mt. Everest. Thank you Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd. ! Let's meet again soon.
