We hope that you are staying safe during these crazy times. This won't last forever and we can't wait to see you back in Nepal and trekking through the mountains. We anticipate it won’t be long before you are heading to Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, or wherever you have booked. This is an update on how we are doing what we have always done, and that is offering our support and putting our clients’ needs first.
It is sad to see the spring trekking season pass without seeing 100's of trekkers hugging and celebrating at the end of their trek or climbing expedition. The autumn season is also going to be effected by the lack of international flights. At the end of September, we will have a clearer picture of when international flights will resume. For now, and to play it safe, it is wiser to plan your trek in 2021. By this time you will truly be biting at the bit to get into the mountains and experience that freedom once again. We will keep you posted of any changes to Nepal’s border opening to international travelers.
Air travel to Nepal is expected to open at the 17th of September 2020. If this does happen, then you can expect to be on the trail and into the wilds of Nepal. There will be some differences to your normal trekking experience. For example, things like social distancing have to be respected and hygiene measures followed more stringently. These measures will not adversely affect your experience along the trails, but will require more caution in the villages and lodges we stay at. We may have to alter some sections of the trek, but nevertheless, nothing will stop you from taking in the views of the landscape and mountains.

Currently, the Nepal government advises against all unnecessary travel to Nepal and only citizens can return at the present time.
We at Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will stay vigilant and keep you posted of any changes to the border restrictions
We will continue to be flexible and provide whatever support we can on your future trek. We have rescheduled 100's of our client’s bookings to future dates. This applies to trips already booked and for all future treks. We will always listen and do whatever we can to accommodate your request. Essentially this means that we will honor all changes and rescheduling of treks at NO COST to you – even if this means your trek is in two years time!
We will put on hold your booking until you are ready to make a date. Obviously this will depend on our borders opening sometime in the near future. It is entirely up to you when you are free to travel. There is no deadline for when treks should be re-booked. If your flight is cancelled or for any other reason you cannot travel, then we will keep your booking open with no extra costs incurred.
We have added new dates for all affected trips in 2021, 2022 and also introduced new trekking dates for 2023. You will have plenty of options over the next few years. Check out our website for more information. Many trekkers make bookings years in advance. We will help you reschedule your trip. Just give us a call and set your mind at rest. Our team is here to help.

Currently, all future trips after the end of August 2020 are planned to go ahead. We will advise you of any changes to the anticipated departure dates. This will depend entirely on the border opening as planned at the end of August.
