The Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek – 13 Days is a fast-paced yet immersive journey crafted by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd. for those with limited time but a deep desire to explore the remote beauty of the Manaslu region and the mystical Tsum Valley. This condensed adventure blends culture, nature, and high-altitude trekking into one unforgettable experience.
Beginning from Kathmandu, this trek swiftly transports you to the starting point at Jagat via private jeep, ensuring minimal travel hassle and maximum time on the trail. From the very first day, you are immersed in the raw landscapes of the Manaslu Conservation Area, home to diverse flora and fauna, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and stunning Himalayan views.
The Tsum Valley, often referred to as the "Hidden Valley," is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage site with deep Tibetan Buddhist roots. Trekking through Chumling, Chhekampar, and eventually to Mu Gompa, you’ll witness an untouched culture, traditional stone villages, mani walls, and serene gompas nestled beneath towering peaks. This region remained restricted until 2008, preserving its ancient heritage and spiritual ambiance, far removed from the crowded trails of other popular treks in Nepal.
After reaching the spiritual heights of Mu Gompa, the trail rejoins the Manaslu Circuit, continuing toward the rugged beauty of Deng, Namrung, and the culturally rich village of Samagaon. With Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) ever-looming in the backdrop, the trail ascends through dramatic alpine landscapes, past glacial rivers and yak pastures.
Although condensed, this 13-day trek doesn't compromise on experience. You'll encounter the warmth of the local Tibetan-influenced communities, walk through rhododendron forests, traverse suspension bridges, and enjoy breathtaking panoramas of Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and Manaslu itself.
Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd. has fine-tuned this itinerary to offer a balance of adventure and cultural immersion. Their expert guides ensure safety, comfort, and insightful knowledge throughout the journey. This trek is ideal for physically fit individuals who want to experience the essence of both the Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit in a shorter timeframe.
Ending at Dharapani, the journey loops back to Kathmandu by private transport, wrapping up a whirlwind exploration of one of Nepal’s most mystical and rewarding trekking regions.
Whether you’re a seasoned trekker or a cultural enthusiast looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure, the 13 Days Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is a perfect blend of natural grandeur and spiritual depth – all within a limited time frame.

Before embarking on the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek – 13 Days with Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd., there are several important things to keep in mind to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding experience:
Both Manaslu and Tsum Valley are part of restricted trekking zones. You’ll need special permits, which are all arranged by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Pvt. Ltd.
A licensed guide is mandatory—independent trekking is not allowed in this region.
The trek begins with a private jeep ride from Kathmandu to Jagat, which is more comfortable and time-saving compared to public buses. This helps you make the most of your 13-day itinerary.
This is a moderately challenging to strenuous trek, especially due to rapid altitude gain and long walking days.
Trekkers should be in good physical condition and ideally have prior hiking experience.
The Tsum Valley is a highly spiritual area with strong Tibetan Buddhist influence.
Respect local customs: always walk clockwise around mani walls and stupas, ask before taking photos, and dress modestly.
Lodging along the route is in local teahouses—simple but comfortable enough for trekkers.
Expect shared bathrooms, limited hot showers, and basic meals like dal bhat, noodles, soups, and Tibetan bread.
The best times to trek are March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn) for clear skies and stable weather.
Monsoon (June–August) can bring landslides, while winter (December–February) sees heavy snow at higher altitudes.
The trek crosses elevations over 3,700m, so there is a risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).
Your guide is trained to recognize symptoms and will ensure proper acclimatization and pacing.
Mobile and Wi-Fi signals are limited or unavailable in many areas.
Charging is available in some teahouses for a small fee—carry a power bank or solar charger.

I signed up for the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sherpa Expedition based on a friend’s recommendation, and now I can confidently say it was the best travel decision I’ve ever made. Our guide, Tshering, was truly special. Calm, experienced, and incredibly warm-hearted, he guided us through every step with confidence and care. What I admired most was how he made sure everyone in the group felt supported. Whether it was helping with altitude or simply offering a kind word during steep climbs, he was always there. The trek itself was stunning—every day revealed a new landscape and view. We trekked through rhododendron forests, past rivers and waterfalls, and finally reached the snow-filled amphitheater of Annapurna Base Camp. Sherpa Expedition managed all logistics perfectly—from flights to accommodation to delicious meals at the tea houses. Tshering taught us about the culture, pointed out peaks, and even made us laugh during the tough sections. The views from base camp were beyond anything I’ve ever seen—pure magic. I left Nepal with new friendships and a heart full of gratitude. Thank you, Tshering, and thank you, Sherpa Expedition, for an unforgettable experience.
Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp was one of the most magical experiences of my life. Sherpa Expedition made the entire journey smooth and stress-free, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Dendi. His professionalism, combined with his kindness, made him the perfect companion for this adventure. Dendi was extremely knowledgeable and knew the region inside out—he explained the culture, the peaks, and ensured we were adjusting well to the altitude. Every day was an adventure—crossing rivers, walking through thick forest trails, and climbing toward snow-covered landscapes. Sherpa Expedition’s planning was excellent. The flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara was on time, the porters were friendly and hardworking, and the tea houses we stayed in were comfortable and offered surprisingly good food. Dendi checked our health daily, helped with gear issues, and created a supportive group atmosphere. When we finally reached base camp, the sheer beauty brought tears to my eyes. It felt like standing in the heart of nature. This was not just a trek, but an emotional and beautiful journey. I’m thankful to Dendi and the Sherpa Expedition team. I would absolutely recommend this company for anyone looking to experience the Himalayas.
My brother and I had a great trip to the Everest Base Camp. Together with Santa our very well informed gide, who took care of us in a fantastic way and gave us much information during the hike, and Gulzen our porter (who carried each day our two bags of 10kg each plus his own bag....unbelievable). We had a wonderful time in the beautiful Himalayas, it was a lifetime experience!
