8 Days Langtang valley is situated to the North of Kathmandu and is sandwiched between the Mountain range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Valley's great trekking adventure in the Langtang region combines spectacular views of the Himalayas with great Tibetan cultural insights.

A key feature of the Langtang Circuit trek is the rhododendron and bamboo forests. Other features are animal wildlife, majestic waterfalls, and soothing natural hot springs. You will also be getting magnificent views of the snow-capped white mountain giants including Langtang Lirung (7,200m), Mount Ganesh Himal (7,600m),  Langtang II (7,227m), Gang Chhenpo (6,388m),  Naya Kanga RI (5,846m), and finally Mount Dorje Lakpa (6,966m). Aside from the great Himalayas, you will also see the beautiful lake.

The Langtang Valley trek route goes through traditional Tamang villages. You will reach Langtang Village and the local Sherpa village near Kyanjing Gompa (3,870m). At Kyanjin Ri you will watch the sunrise in Himalayas range, setting its sun rays on the Himalayan mountains..

This is a great trek and can be done by anybody who can walk 5-6 hours a day. If you are in doubt as to your level of fitness please add porters, as they will then carry your backpack. A porter can carry up to 20-25 kg.

Outline Itinerary of Langtang Valley Trek

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,450m) Duration: 6 hours 

Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,480m) Duration: 6 hours 

Day 3: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,540m) Duration: 5 hours 

Day 4: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m) Duration: 3 hours 

Day 5: Kyanjin Gompa Acclimatization and Exploration Day. Duration: 6 hours

Day 6: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Rimche (2,350m) Duration: 6 hours  

Day 7: Trek from Rimche to Syabrubensi (1,450m) Duration: 5 hours 

Day 8: Drive Back to Kathmandu. Duration: 6 hours

Best Season for Langtang Valley Trek

As Langtang Valley trek is of strenuous grade, you have to choose the best season for the best experience. The best season is Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). The Langtang Valley-weather is moderate and every condition is favorable.

Day by day Itinerary of Langtang Valley Trek

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,450m) Duration: 6 hours 

Today, We start our journey early in the morning after breakfast and start our drive up to Syabrubeshi (1,460m) which takes about 7 -8 hours. We ride along the scenic banks of Trishuli River with beautiful views of valleys, meadows, rivers, and mountains. After arriving at the destination at 1460m, we will check-in to the hotel and we spend overnight in Syabrubensi.

Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,480m) Duration: 6 hours 

Today after hot breakfast we start our journey first, the trail ascends for about 2 hours and then a climb for an hour takes us to a Bamboo village where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we walk through leveled paths witnessing a number of bird species in the area as well as beehives hanging on the cliffs. We will have to ascend a steep climb again to finally arrive at the Lama Hotel. We will stay in Lama Hotel at the Guesthouse.

Day 3: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,540m) Duration: 5 hours 

After a hot breakfast, a pleasant walk through the rhododendron and pine forests for 2 an half hours takes us to Ghoda Tabela where We will stop lunch After having lunch here, we can enjoy the dense forests and herbs in the area. Another 2 an half hours walk through a scenic trail finally takes us to the Langtang valley. We will stay in Langtang Valley at Guesthouse.

Day 4: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m) Duration: 3 hours 

After a hot breakfast, today is more like a leisure day as we will take a leisurely walk for 2 -3 hours to visit the Kyangjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the destination of the trek, the Gompa is a serene and beautiful place that allows us to have the scenic views of Mount Ganchhenpo and Mount Langtang Lirung. The yak cheese factory, Buddhist monasteries, and the traditional local houses are the main attractions of this short trip. We will stay in Kyanjin Gompa at Guesthouse.

Day 5: Kyanjin Gompa Acclimatization and Exploration Day. Duration: 6 hours

Today is dedicated to indulging in the natural beauty and serenity of the Gompa area. We can enjoy the majestic mountain views as well as relish in a peaceful environment. We can also take a climb up to the Tsergo Ri at 5150m and also reach the Langtang glacier and the beautiful yak pasture called Langshisha Kharka. Its quite a tough day. We will follow the same trail back to Kyanjin Gompa. We will stay in Kyanjin Gompa at Guesthouse.

Day 6: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Rimche (2,350m) Duration: 6 hours  

Today after having breakfast we will have a pleasant trek trekking our steps back to Rimche from Kyanjin Gompa through the scenic path. Second last day of the Langtang trek. This is a lot easier to walk down rather than going up. We will stay in Rimche at Guesthouse.

Day 7: Trek from Rimche to Syabrubensi (1,450m) Duration: 5 hours 

After having breakfast we start our journey trek back our steps through the Bamboo and rhododendron forests to finally reach Syabrubeshi. This not a long day of a walk it takes only 4-5 hours. We will enjoy the night at one of the local lodges at Sybrubesi. Enjoy the last dinner together with a guide and porter. As we the next day have a bus drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 8: Drive Back to Kathmandu. Duration: 6 hours

Today after breakfast early in the morning after breakfast, we start our journey back to Kathmandu. You can enjoy the evening traveling around the tourist spots in the capital city or shopping for souvenirs in Kathmandu Thamel.
