LUMBINI TOUR

Lumbini has been a holy ground for Buddhists all over the world.

Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is the foundation of world peace. Situated in Kapilvastu district, Lumbini is a pilgrimage of a lifetime for all Buddhists throughout the world. Mayadevi temple is the biggest attraction in Lumbini which has been recently renovated as per the Lumbini Master Plan. The temple has a stone image of Maya Devi giving birth to Lord Buddha as she holds onto a branch. The Ashoka Pillar, which signifies Lumbini as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is another prime attraction. Besides its religious significance, Lumbini offers cultural insights into the village life of the western plains.

Mayadevi Temple:
The renowned Mayadevi temple, the mother of Buddha is located close to the Ashoka pillar. It is believed that the statue of Mayadevi is made out of the stone which is 2000 years old. People also worship Mayadevi as well as Rupadevi.

Puskar Pond:
To the south of Mayadevi temple lies Puskar pond where Mayadevi took bath before giving birth to Buddha took his purifying bath in the same pond.

Lumbini Garden:
The whole area of Lumbini is considered as a garden which has created an atmosphere of peace, spirituality, universal brotherhood, and nonviolence consistent. There are many monasteries that have been built through the help of different countries like Thailand, Srilanka, and Japan.
According to the Lumbini Master Plan designed by Japanese Professor Kenzo Tange, the area is divided into three areas- Sacred Garden, Monastic Zone, and Lumbini Village.

3. Comfortable Walking Shoes: Lumbini is a large area with various temples, monasteries, and gardens to explore. Make sure to pack comfortable walking shoes or sandals to navigate the grounds comfortably.

4. Sun Protection: The sun can be intense in Lumbini, so pack essentials like a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from harmful UV rays.

5. Insect Repellent: Lumbini is located in a tropical region, so it is advisable to bring insect repellent to protect yourself from mosquitoes and other insects.

10. Electronic Devices: If you plan to use electronic devices such as cameras, smartphones, or tablets, remember to bring chargers, spare batteries, and memory cards.

Remember to pack light and consider the duration of your stay in Lumbini when deciding how much to pack. It is also a good idea to check the weather forecast closer to your travel date and make any necessary adjustments to your packing list.
