The Everest Three High Passes Trek (Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjola) is a picturesque trek in the Nepalese Himalayas, weaving through the Khumbu region over three of the world's highest passes. On this Everest three high pass trek, you will observe the ancient culture of the local Sherpa people. The path passes through traditional villages where Buddhist monasteries (Tengboche monasteries), prayer wheels, and monuments abound. Sagarmatha National Park, home to a variety of wildlife including Himalayan Thar, musk deer, blue sheep, barking deer, blood pheasant, Tibetan snow-cock, crimson-horned pheasant, and domesticated yaks, is a main highlight of the Khumbu region. The major attraction of three pass trek is Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5,364 m. Detailed Itinerary of Everest Three High Pass Trek

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel 1,350 meters.

Welcome to Kathmandu! A city full of vibrant markets, bustling streets, and discover colorful temples and grand pagodas. Our representative guide will receive you from an international airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day you’ll explore this amazing city. In the evening, our tour guide will give you a brief orientation about the trek. You can do the shopping and buy your necessary trekking gear near the city. Finally, you’ll meet with the group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2600m) Duration: 4-5 hours 

Today early morning you will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. A 30 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla offers marvelous views of mountain ranges as rays of light fall on them. You start a 3-4 hours trek to Phakding shortly after meeting your guide and porter in Lukla. You will stay in Phakding at Tea-house.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3441m) Duration: 6-7 hours 

You will continue along the path soon after having your breakfast in Phakding. After passing the Dudh Koshi River you register your permit number and group details at the Sagarmatha National Park office in Monju. You will ascend to Namche Bazaar crossing the  Hillary Suspension Bridge. You will stay in Namche Bazaar at Tea-house.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Today is the day to rest in the center of the Everest region, the Namche Bazaar. This is also a day to adjust your body to the high altitude. Though you will stay in Namche, this is recommended that you stay active and moving. The Namche Bazaar is well facilitated with banks, ATMs and Cyber Cafés and you can also visit the Sherpa museum or visit the local sherpa community.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tyangbuche (3800m) Duration: 6-7 hours 

Today after hot breakfast you will start your trek for Tengboche. On your way, beautiful views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt Ama Dablam, and Thamserku accompany you while trekking the smooth and sometimes zigzag path. You will stay in Tengboche at Tea-house.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m) Duration: 6-7 hours

After having breakfast you start your journey morning view of the mountain panorama is outstanding and you can make picture the breathtaking views of mount Kangtega range, Thamserku, Mount Amadablam, Taboche, Kwangde, Tengboche, Mount Lhotse, and Mount Nuptse. Your day begins along with the path through Imja Khola then to Tengboche where you descend to the riverbank, through the rhododendron and birch forests. At Deboche you will visit a Buddhist nunnery and cross a few chortens to reach Pangboche where you can have a majestic view of the wonderful Himalayas. One can easily notice the thinning vegetation on trekking from the upper Panboche to the dry and alpine terrain of Shomare. The apical ridge of Mount Pumori can be viewed from Orsho then finally you reach the cold and windy village of Dingboche. You will stay in Dingboche at Tea-house.

Day 7: Dingboche to Chhukung (4,700m) Duration: 2-3 hours

Today you wake up to find yourselves amid a stone-walled alpine landscape of Dingboche. You will continue your trek through Imja Khola valley to glacier moraines in the middle of towering Himalayas. Your trek continues for the next 2-3 hours through the valley viewing Lhotse Mountain and Ama Dablam on your sides until you reach yak Bible, the herdsman's place. Walking further we can have a wonderful view of a rocky and icy appearance of Imja Tse peak at the terminal moraine. Half an hour's walk from the Bible leads us to Chhukung where you can view the glaciers and snowy mountains. You will stay in Chukung at Tea-house.

Day 8: Acclimatization Day Chhukung

Today is another acclimatization day in Chhukung getting acclimatized to this height you will start to ascend early in the morning. This day you enter the remote hinterlands of the mountains where you cannot find any teashops further so you need to carry plenty of water for yourselves. You have the option of either taking hiking over the hill northwest of Chhukung over Nuptse glacier; the other option is to walk down the valley of the Bible than to the high trail above Niyang Khola. On hiking further you can have a stunning view of Island peak valley and the jagged ridge of Amphu Lapcha. On ascending along the east side of Niyang Khola valley through the stony trail you reach wide basin dotted with frozen lakes. We leave Chhukung after 5 hours walk through the trail Kongma La. We reach the top to see the prayer flags fluttering to mark the pass at the ridge. You will descent begins which is a difficult and challenging experience of today’s trek. Then you will climb the moraine on the far side, then turn north through the trail of Khumbu glacier which finally leads to today’s final destination. You will stay in Chhukung at Tea-house.

Day 9: Chhukung to Kongmala pass to Lobuche (4900m) Duration: 7-8 hours

After having breakfast at 3-4 am you will start to ascend early in the morning. This day you enter the remote hinterlands of the mountains where you cannot find any teashops further so you have to carry plenty of water for ourselves. You have the option of either taking a climb over the hill northwest of Chhukung over Nuptse glacier; the other option is to walk down the valley of Bibre then to the high path above Niyang Khola. You will walk further you can have a stunning view of Island peak valley and the jagged ridge of Amphu Lapcha. On ascending along the east side of Niyang Khola valley through the stony trail we reach wide basin dotted with frozen lakes. We leave Chhukung after 5 hours walk through the trail Kongma La. We reach the top to see the prayer flags fluttering to mark the pass at the ridge. You will begin to descend which is the difficult and challenging experience of today’s trek. Then you will climb the moraine on the far side, then turn north through the trail of Khumbu glacier which finally leads to today’s final destination. You will stay in Lobuche at Tea-house.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakshep(5100m) and EBC ( 5364) 8-9 hours 

The trek ahead of Gorakshep, the path leads through the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier. crossing through the pyramid sign post you will find ourselves you can view the north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. You can view the 360-degree vista of snow-covered mountains after ascent to Thangma Riju. On this day climbing the top of Changri glacier you catch the sight of Kalapatthar, a green knoll beneath Mt. Pumori. When you reach Gorakshep you can view the snow-capped mountains all around including the crown of the world, Everest. You then take the trail to Everest base camp through once Gorak Shep Lake and reach Indian army mountaineers’ memorials on continuing. Upon arriving at the Everest Base Camp you can realize the hazardous route of Khumbu icefall. You will stay in Gorak Shep at Tea-house.

Day 11: Gorakshep to Kalapathar(5550m) to Dzonglha (4860m) 6-7 hours

Today is the climax of your trip which starts with the walk to catch a dramatic view of shining Everest from Kalapatthar. As you descent to Kalapatthar, you can catch a breath while snapping the pictures of peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbuttse, Changtse appear to the East, the Everest revealing between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. After walking several hours we reach Kalapathhar where you sit to quench the ultimate thirst of eyes to see the unparalleled Himalayan panorama. You will leave your footsteps to take away the memories and snapped pictures for the lifetime experience. You will stay in Dzongla at Tea-house.

Day 12: Dzongla to Chola pass to Dragnag Duration: ( 4700m) 7-8 hours 

Today after having breakfast early in the morning you will wake up to see the mesmerizing view of Cholatse. The early part of this one of the toughest trips begins as you transverse through Dzonglha across spur forest which then descends to a basin. As you will climb the height again you can see the picturesque view of Chola lake and Mount Ama Dablam. The steep climb is made worse by boulders which then leads you to the curvy trails of Bergschrund. At the top of Cho la ( 5420m), you can enjoy the sight of majestic peaks all around standing by the side of fluttering  Buddhist prayer flags. The descent to Dragnag is relatively easier unless the rocks are glazed by iced making the trail slippery and hazardous. You will stay in Dragnag at Tea-house.

Day 13: Dragnag to Gokyo(4700m) Duration:  6-7 hours 

After having breakfast early in the morning the next day you step out of the small village and keep following the trail through Ngozumpa glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal. As we reach the other side of the glacier, you can catch the sight of the second Gokyo lakes, which is one of the six series. On the edge of the third lake which is a short distance from the second; you can see Gokyo village. You will stay in Gokyo at Tea-house.

Day 14: Exploration Day at Gokyo

Another acclimatization day at Gokyo,  The acclimatization day is an excellent opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri which is one of the best places to catch a view of the Mount  Everest region, the fifth lakes. The fourth lake is 3 Km north to Gokyo with its high cliffs and peaks rising above it. The trail continues to the fifth turquoise blue shimmering lake which is the biggest. You can even climb the hills at the edge of the lake to catch the breathtaking scenery of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung, Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. You will stay in Gokyo at Tea-house.

Day 15: Gokyo to Renjola pass to Lungden Duration: ( 4375 m) 6-7 hours

Today we start to walk to Renjola pass early in the morning. We leave the main trail of Gokyo valley to take Renjola trail by Dudh Pokhari. After 3 hours walk the vista of the Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche can be enjoyed. The trail continues down the stairs to reach Angladumba Tsho. On further walking we see Relama Tsho and Renjo Lake then we walk through these narrow valley teemed with giant boulders to Lungden.

Day 16: Lungden to Thame to Namche Bazaar Duration: (441m) 6-7 hours

Today you will follow the traditional route that had been followed for centuries by the Tibetan traders which are descent from Marlung to Thame. Crossing Bhote Koshi, descending to Taranga you reach Langmuche Khola. You can view astonishing views of the mountains such as Thamserku, Katanga, Kusum Kanguru, etc from the lodges besides seeing the famous Buddhist shrine (Gompa) at Thame. you cross the bridge reach the Same, the place which offers breathtaking beauty of mountain views. Down the steep path, we reach Thamo village where there is a monastery called Khari Goma which is the nunnery. Finally, we reach Namche through some gompas, prayer flags, chortens, and Mani stones. You will stay in Namche at Tea-house.

Day 17: Namche to Phakding to Lukla Duration: (2800m 6-7 hours 

Today is the final day of the high pass trek. On this day you will start your trek from Namche and reach Lukla but the challenges are huge walking down the steep with shaky legs until you reach the Lukla. You will stay in Lukla at Tea-house.

Day 18: Fly Back to Kathmandu 30 minutes

After having breakfast, early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. The taking off is a dramatic scene just as the landing. The rest of the day can be used for sightseeing Kathmandu valley. You will stay in Kathmandu at the Hotel.

Day 19: Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport.

Your last days' adventure comes to an end today! Our company representative will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your nearest next adventure in the wonderful country, Nepal.
